incease energy and immune system
very happy
Insane new honey experience very good!
I have travelled with this amazing Koora Jarrah honey for many months now and have never caught any bug or virus since taking it. Thankful for this natural immunity booster. It has also helped me sleep on my travels and has improved my digestive health tremendously by achieving gut balance. I have a teaspoon or two in the morning drizzled on my toast and a teaspoon just before bed time, and it tastes so delicious without being so sickeningly sweet with its naturally low GI properties. I feel so good throughout the day, it's unbelievable!
If you need a natural health boost this is it! I take it neat by the teaspoon and then a mouthful of warm water to rinse it down just before bedtime. Always works to deal with any scratchy throat.
Great
The only negative comment I have it has to do with packaging. It was purely packaged. I like the taste and will be back for more
The bottle is quite small and I almost used half of the bottle in less than one week. The quality seems good, but with the price tag, I cannot say it is really worth it. It is much more expensive compared with the regular honey I usually use. It is a little bit bitter and has some kind of wood taste if you eat the honey directly, but works well when mixed with water. It is a little bit stickier and harder to mix with water, especially with ice code water. It takes about ten minutes for the honey to melt with water. I have not noticed any special effect with this item yet, but no bad side effects either.
Hi Kindle Customer, thank you for the review :)
We understand that you think this is quite a small bottle compared to regular honey, however this is not meant to be compared to regular honey. Marri honey with a TA25+ rating is a medical grade honey with research finding it has 90% higher antimicrobial power compared to most Manuka honey. You'll find that only the highest-end Manuka honey has equivalent potency, but costs over $100, which is 2-3 times more than KOORA's Marri honey.
We have made this rare and powerful medicinal honey very affordable considering it has to be harvested from ancient forests found only in one remote region of remote Western Australia (whose capital Perth is considered the most isolated city in the world), sent to New Zealand for independent lab testing for antimicrobial activity, shipped to the US from the other side of the planet, not to mention the costs of FDA registraion, customs clearance, etc..
The price for this Marri honey is superb value for such high potency.
Rich, intense flavor. Been using it in place of regular honey and it's a much deeper taste that isn't super sweet.
This honey has high antioxidant properties which I appreciate, and also has properties that aid in digestion. I got it specifically for that reason since I've recently had issues with digestion. It's been helping in that area. The honey itself is funny, thin as far as honeys go. I know we all have different tastes in food and how food tastes to us. I found the flavor to be very light and also only lightly sweet. It's lighter than traditional grocery store honey such as the kind the comes in a bottle in the shape of a bear.
My husband and I enjoyed the KOORA Marri Honey. The flavor was definitely like honey, but also very unique. Yum!
It was my first time trying Jarrah honey as I've read so much about it and Manuka honey. From what I've read Jarrah honey has a lot of health benefits.
I love honey and normally I use a clover honey. The taste of this honey was amazing! It does have a little bit of a caramel taste. It has the same thickness as regular honey and it says it has a plum undertone but I did not taste that. This is one of the best honeys I've ever tasted and I used it in coffee, tea and on bread and I love the health benefit of this honey. It is something I would purchase in the future.
This honey is really exceptional as far as taste in my opinion. It's smooth and not too sweet, it's really good. I am certainly not a honey expert but this is one of the best tasting honeys I have ever had the luxury of trying. I would certainly recommend this to friends and family and I would purchase this again in the future.
In my forty-six years on earth, I have only tasted honey (clover honey) or honey-sauce that comes from Popeyes. Honey was for tea when we were sick and in yummy peanut butter sandwiches. The sugars would granulate together in the bottom of the bottle, leading to frustration and fighting the battle with the microwave. It was affordable.
I was able to pick up this Koora Marri honey, and I was a bit intimidated by it. The price was much higher than I've ever spent. Would I like it? I was hoping so, as well as being able to use it in other recipes. It took a few days to open it. It had a smell unlike anything I have come across. A deep floral, but somewhat earthy, but mellow? It is way too hard to describe. However, my first taste!! My first taste was incredible. The honey fills your mouth and is actually smooth! Like velvet. I'm sure my eyes widened. The flavor is hard to describe for me. It's not as sweet as regular honey and definitely not as dense - at least it doesn't feel heavy in your mouth. Alright, it's like Clover honey is a child's birthday party, and this honey is a speakeasy with a jazz band. It is much more sophisticated while remaining versatile and delicious.
There are so many people who have no idea this exists and may never. It's honey for grown-ups, leaving the lightly sweet nectar to swirl around your mouth. It's a real treat. I have never had anything like it before.
Wonderful honey. Pull up a bit on your spoon and stir into tea for a touch of sweetness. Haven't used this one in baking yet, but it serves well in drinks so I will likely keep using it just for that!
If you're expecting this to taste like Manuka honey, it isn't quite the same. It claims the same antimicrobial and antibacterial qualities (MGO 2000+ equivalent) as Manuka honey. This MGO number is far higher than any I've had before and maybe that's why it tastes so much different. I'd put this more along the lines of a pine honey, with some sharper and more bitter notes.
This dark, earthy honey isn't just another honey, not at all. It is specifically collected from bees who pollinate a rare eucalyptus tree variety in Australia. The Jarrah trees depend on the bees and the bees ensure their survival. The honey is exceptionally rich in nutrients and believed to boost your immune system. I absolutely love it. I'm taking one spoonful daily as a supplement, saving my regular honey for normal sweetening uses.
This is the first time I tried Jarrah honey. I This one is from the forests of Western Australia.
This is raw honey. It isn't crystalized.
I am very familiar with Manuka Honey. This is nothing like Manuka honey. It doesn't claim to be. Rather it claims to be better. Manuka honey comes from New Zealand.
The flavor is spectacular. This is a honey I can easily drizzle on toast. It is extremely less medicinal tasting than Manuka honey. It is as described. It is smooth tasting. It is caramel like. It reminds me of local honey in my area of the USA.
I am unable to find clear information on the TA system. The product page state a TA 35+ rating equivalent to Manuka's MGO 2000+. I have also seen information that Jarrah's TA 35+ is equivalent to Manuka's MGO of 1000+.
Between the two flavor wise, I prefer the Jarrah honey. I do prefer the Manuka honey's UMF rating that makes it easier to choose the product right for me.
I am go between 4 or 5 stars. I love my Manuka honey and the security knowing exactly what I am receiving if I follow the UMF certification. I can't find the same reassurance in the TA system though it is lab tested. I feel comfortable paying more for Manuka honey. I would definitely have to research this more before paying more for Jarrah honey.
Hi alp543
Thank you so much for your detailed and honest review—we’re thrilled you enjoyed the smooth, caramel-like flavour of our Jarrah honey! It’s wonderful to hear that it reminded you of local honey in the USA, yet offered something uniquely W Aussie forest-born and distinctly KOORA.
We completely understand your curiosity around the TA system. TA (Total Activity) measures the combined antimicrobial strength of hydrogen peroxide and other bioactive compounds in the honey. Unlike MGO-based systems, TA reflects the full spectrum of antimicrobial potency, which is why KOORA Jarrah Honey TA35+ is considered exceptionally powerful.
To support transparency, we’ve now published our lab-certified TA test certificates directly on our website for your verification: koorahoney.com/pages/test-certificates
We’re committed to making KOORA a conscious, science-backed choice—and we truly appreciate your thoughtful comparison with Manuka. If you ever have questions or want to explore more about how KOORA supports wellness rituals, we’re here for you.
Thanks again for being part of our journey
I've sampled a good share of premium honeys through Vine reviews and otherwise. I'd rate this one very very highly.
Keep in mind that it tastes nothing like Manuka. I bring that up because it compares itself with Manuka due to the MGO count. But this tastes totally different.
It's a deep, dark, oaky caramel flavor that is more rich than sweet. It's actually less sweet than some honeys. Not cloying. Just sweet enough to be honey. It is also quite intensely thick and buttery but with no crystallization. Like silk on your tongue.
Smooth, buttery, intensely flavorful without being cloying; totally my type of honey.
Also appreciate the jar was very well sealed. Might be a weird tangent but over time I've noticed a pattern of flimsy seals on many honey products; maybe due to the boutique nature of small batch honey; maybe because honey is not known to spoil. This one's seal was perfectly secure on the other hand.
Thank you for your review. We're stoked that you rate KOORA Jarrah Honey so highly! One of the reasons why Jarrah honey tastes better than Manuka is that, unlike Manuka, our honey does not have high MGO levels. Methylglyoxal (MGO) is the key active ingredient from which Manuka honey derives its potency. But MGO is also bitter and more importantly is toxic to to cells and tissues, and is associated with many health risks including diabetes, cancer, behavior-related disorders, neurodegenerative diseases and aging. You can read more on this well-researched page on the dangers of MGO or Google for: 'dangers of methylglyoxal'to find a weatlh of studies on the topic.
The good thing about Jarrah honey is that its potency is not derived from high MGO, but from a high total activity produced by bee enzymes interacting with the nectar from Jarrah flowers.
In addition, Jarrah honey is better than Manuka honey in many ways such as:
1. Unmatched antimicrobial Total Activity (TA) level of 35+. Manuka honey tops out at 33+. But you'll typically find that 8.8 oz of Manuka honey with a UMF rating of 30 or higher is going to cost over $1,000! Compare that to our Jarrah's 35+ rating and you'll see that we provide exceptional value.
2. Jarrah honey has a Low Glycemic Index (GI) compared to Manuka honey which has a moderate GI. This means Jarrah is healtheir for your blood glucose levels, does not spike sugar levels as high as Manuka, and provides more sustained energy thus avoiding sugar crashes.
3. Studies have found that Jarrah honey has 2-3 times higher antioxidant levels than Manuka honey.
This beneficial honey has a robust taste.
It arrived easy to pour, I would've expected some crystallization, but that was not the case. Usually, my manuka, honey is quite thick.
I like that the jar is dark to protect the contents inside. It is a plastic jar and lid.
Manuka honey has so many benefits, this one checks all the boxes. Take this daily with yogurt. Nice taste and free of chemicals. Not as cloudy as other manuka honey I've tried, but it packs a bunch, so only need a little. Great option if you're looking for manuka honey.
Hi UncleMike, thanks for your review! This isn't Manuka honey. It's Marri honey from Western Australia, which is better than Manuka in many ways. Our antimicrobial activity level of 25+ is equivalent to more than UMF 25 or MGO 1200 in Manuka honey.
But KOORA Marri honey is better than Manuka honey. Some standout advantages of Marri vs Manuka are:
1. Low Glycemic Index: Marri honey has a low glycemic index (GI) of 46 comapred to Manuka, which has moderate GI levels in the mid 50s up to the mid 60s.
2. Better value for money: Manuka with similar antimicrobial potency is priced at over $100. That's 2X more expensive than our superior Marri Honey! Even inferior Manuka with an MGO of 850, equivalent to UMF/TA 20 costs almost 2X our price. This is a rare case of getting something better for less!
3. Non-MGO antimicrobial potency. Manuka honey derives it's potency from high levels of Methylglyoxal (MGO). If you do a search on the dangers of Methyglyoxal, you'll find that numerous studies show that MGO is a volatile chemical that is associated with many serious diseases such as diabetic complication, cell apoptosis (death), inflammation, etc.. The good thing is all KOORA honey potency is non-MGO derived. Instead our honey's potency is due to bee enzymes that interact with the nectar from Marri and Jarrah flowers to produce low levels of hydrogen peroxide that work synergistically with about 200 compounds in the honey, resulting in rare honey with unique and unmatched beneficial properties that have be tested and certified to be superior to Manuka.
I believe in different honeys for different purposes. I use orange blossom honey frequently when something like tea needs sweetening. I don’t taste any citrus notes in this honey, which has hints of the ancient forest it came from in its slight earthiness. I’m planning to use it on toast and other things that will benefit from that flavor. Many people will also appreciate it for being raw and for any possible other benefits. Since this type of honey crystallizes a bit quicker than some, I’m happy that to report that mine shows no evidence of crystallization.
This honey is just a little bit thinner, but rich and has a nice, almost caramel flavor along with the expected sweetness. At 73 degrees F, it is perfectly smooth and completely devoid of any crystalization. As with most honeys, it is excellent in tea or on toast and can be used on almost anything where sweetness is needed. This is a relatively expensive honey that comes with claims of health benefits, specifically antibiotic properties. While not nearly as expensive as some others, I hope that this MGO stuff (methylglyoxal per kilogram) is not just marketing fluff.
